Was ist Eierstockkrebs? Welche Symptome sind typisch?

Eierstockkrebs wie der Name schon sagt, ist eine Krebserkrankung der Eierstöcke, die bevorzugt jenseits des 50. Lebensjahrs auftritt. In der Regel auch im fortgeschrittenem Tumorstadium. Die klassischen Symptome sind in der Regel, dass die Frauen über Obstipationen, Bauchumfangzunahme und unspezifische Schmerzen klagen. So dass Sie sehen, dass die Frauen keine klassischen Symptome haben wie beim Brustkrebs, wo man einen Tumor tasten kann, sondern eher unspezifische Symptome wie Obstipationen und Bauchumfangzunahme. Das ist auch der Grund, wieso wir den Eierstockkrebs häufig sehr spät diagnostizieren.

Was ist der Grund, dass gerade ich an Eierstockkrebs erkrankt bin?

Das ist eine ganz häufige Frage, die wir von betroffenen Patientinnen gestellt bekommen. Wir sagen den Frauen in der Regel, dass es Schicksal ist. Es gibt keinen spezifischen Grund, wieso eine Patientin einen Eierstockkrebs bekommt oder nicht, im Gegensatz zu anderen Krebserkrankungen wie Lungenkrebs, hier ist das Rauchen ein wesentlicher Aspekt. Es gibt eine ganz kleine Gruppe, das sind ungefähr 10 bis 20 Prozent der Eierstockkrebspatientinnen.Hier können wir einen Grund angeben, weil hier eine genetische Veranlagung vorliegt.

Welche Rolle spielt eine erbliche Veranlagung in meiner Familie?

Bei circa 5 bis 10 Prozent aller Eierstockkrebspatientinnen liegt eine genetische Veranlagung vor. Das heiß, die betroffenen Frauen haben eine Mutation, entweder im BRCA1- oder BRCA2-Gen. Mit dieser Mutation haben sie einlebenslanges Risiko von 10 bis 60 Prozent, es schwankt nach Literatur, Eierstockkrebs zu bekommen.

Das liegt daran, dass ich schon sehr lange auf diesem Gebiet tätig bin, sowohl klinisch als auch wissenschaftlich. Darüber hinaus bin ich Leiterin unseres zertifizierten, gynäkologischen Krebszentrums.

Infos zur Klinik

Das besondere an meiner Klinik ist, dass wir ein ausgewiesene Expertise im Bereich der Gynäkoonkologie haben. Unsere ausgewiesene Expertise ist auch im Rahmen von Zertifizierungen zu erkennen. Wir haben ein zertifiziertes Brustzentrum mit über 200 Brustkrebspatientinnen, ein zertifiziertes gynäkoonklogisches Krebszentrum, darüber hinaus ein Zentrum für hereditären Eierstock- und Brustkrebs und jetzt ganz neue ein zertifiziertes Zentrum für Dysplasie-Erkrankungen.
